The past few months have left their mark on the channel business: IT system houses and service providers are clearly aware of a reluctance to invest on the part of customers - even if more than a third of the IT companies surveyed have not yet felt any effects or are aware of new business opportunities through optimizations in the IT landscape.

What impact is the current economic situation having on your company?

The economic situation of IT system houses & service providers is assessed differently:

25% have not yet felt any impact on their own business development.

14% perceive that new IT approaches and optimizations such as cost transparency, better manageability and a more homogeneous IT infrastructure are also in demand due to the changed framework conditions.

26% report that IT projects are increasingly being postponed. 21% perceive significant uncertainty on the customer side, while 6% of respondents have already canceled planned IT investments and projects.

WHICH IT AREAS ARE AFFECTED BY THE DECLINE?

Strongest decline currently in Workplace (client, notebook, PC, etc.) at 48% of IT system houses and providers

18% perceive declines in storage, 15% in servers, 7% in managed services, 6% in network equipment and solutions, 4% in security / cybersecurity

OUTLOOK

When do you expect to see a noticeable improvement?

25% assume that there will be a visible improvement in the economic situation within the next 6 months

21% assume that it will take at least another 6-12 months

10% even suspect that the long-lasting growth phase is over for the time being

45% are not confident in their assessment and point to the high level of uncertainty on the customer side

WHAT CHANGES DO YOU GENERALLY EXPECT DUE TO THE CURRENT WEAKER ECONOMIC SITUATION?

20% assume that the "business added value" of IT investments will become more of a focus in future / the added value of investments will be scrutinized more closely

12% report increasing importance of the topic of sustainability & energy efficiency

10% assume that the topic of forms of financing (leasing, installment plan, etc.) will gain in importance; 4% see the topic of availability & procurement of IT hardware for customers as requiring greater attention on the part of system houses & customers; a further 6% assume that IT will become even more important as a result of current developments and will be applied even more strongly to corporate strategy in this context
